Partner Towns Festival

From 6th to 8th of June 2010 Puławy was visited by delegations of the following partner towns: Nieuwegein (Hollnad), Douai (France), Bojarka (Ukraine) and Dublany (Ukraine).

During the visit the delegations visited schools where waited prepared by children performances, lessons and sports activities shows as well as presentation of foreign exchange. The official delegation of Dublany which was composed of Mikola Skorik, Andrij Kolodijczyk and Jurij Haraczko visited Primary School No. 2 in Puławy. Pupils of the school prepared for the guests an artistic performance. Furthermore, the guests from abroad watched the usage of multimedia boards during English and mathematics classes.
This year we celebrated  the 10th anniversary of cooperation between Bojarka and Puławy. One
of the attractions was a performance in the Cultural Centre of Puławy. Besides the performance
of ‘Asgard’ from Bojarka, the anniversary celebration included also performances of Polish groups ‘Etiuda’ and ‘Powiśle’ and planting of a memorial tree. In the celebration participated not only the representatives of Bojarka nad Puławy but also representatives of all the partner towns of Puławy taking part in the IVth Partner Towns Festival, authorities of Puławy and guests.
During the jubilee a competition for primary school pupils  titled ‘Partnership of towns – what is the most important...’ was settled.
During the delegations’ stay in Puławy also the second meeting concerning Polish and Dutch project of youth exchange realised by the Cultural Centre of Puławy ‘Dom Chemika’ with Nieuwegein took place. This time the Polish participants of the project and their parents had
a chance to meet and talk to not only the representatives of the Cultural Centre but also the Dutch organiser – Anneleen Verbeek and the whole Dutch delegation.
This year’s meeting was another occasion to strengthen the bonds between the towns,
to exchange experiences and to talk about future common undertakings.
